U.S. Releases 500 Inmates From Abu Ghraib
Detainees leaving Abu Ghraib prison outside Baghdad wave farewell to relatives and friends who will remain at the prison. The roughly 500 detainees freed Monday are part of a plan to reduce the prison population at the infamous prison to between 1,500 and 2,000 by the June 30 transfer of power to the Iraqi transitional government.
